Coupon Organization: Accordion file

There so many different ways to organize coupons, and trust me, I've tried just about every single one of them!

The subject of coupon organizing deserves more than just one post. To be honest, I don't think I could even cover it all in one post!

Most beginners will find the accordion file the easiest to start off with. You can find them small enough to tuck right inside your purse, and they hold more than you'd think. You can label the different dividers to allow you find the category you're looking for easily.

Rather than using the pre-printed labels that often come with these organizers, I recommend making your own so that the labels make sense to you. For example, my coupons are divided into categories according to how I shop. Dairy, Deli, Snack-foods, etc.

These organizers are easy to find and are very inexpensive. You can find them at the Dollar Tree for $1 or you can upgrade to a slightly sturdier, plastic version at Walmart for around $2.50. You could also defeat the purpose of using coupons altogether by purchasing a designer, chic, fabric organizer! These start at (brace yourselves) $25 and the possibilities are endless.

The down-side, especially once you start to build your coupon collection, is that you have to spend more time flipping through all of the coupons in a particular pocket to find the one that you're looking for. And while they might hold more than you'd think, these little organizers do have their limit and once you reach it, you're pretty much stuck.

Final Verdict:

Great for beginners, not suitable for a pro.
